The Ken River Lodge

 

The Ken River Lodge is located in Madla on the banks of Ken River and 2 km from Panna National Park in the state of


Madhya Pradesh. 

The forest surrounding Ken River Lodge is dry and deciduous, and is populated by Teak, Flame of the forest, Tendu, Indian Ebony and Mahua. This scenic countryside is home to numerous species of birds such as the spur fowl, Tree pie, Paradise fly catcher, Babblers and Parakeet.

The Ken River with its fresh, clear water, flows through the ravines of the Vendhya range and sustains the varied wildlife of Pena National Park. Spread across 542 sq km, Panna National Park is home to rich variety of animal life which includes Tiger, Panther, Sloth Bear, Sambhar, Cheetal Blue bull, Chowsingha, Magar, Chin Kara and the lesser mammals.

 

What to carry : Warm clothing, neutral colures, woolen gloves and hats, sturdy shoes, fishing gear, swimwear, cameras and film, powerful torches.

 

Accommodation:
Swiss-cottage tents (2 beds per tent) with attached toilet and bath (hot & cold water)

 

Accessibility:

  • Khajuraho - 26 kms, Orchha - 190 kms, Bandhavgarh - 260 kms, Gwalior - 300 kms, Agra : 400 kms

  • Regular flights from Delhi and Varanasi to Khajuraho 

  • Trains from New Delhi railway station to Jhansi (Shatabdi Express), 4 hours drive thereafter.
