Climate
French Polynesia has
typical South Pacific temperatures between 20°C (68°F) and
30°C (86°F) at any time of the day, any day of the year.
Humidity is usually high but the even temperature and
fresh sea breezes mean conditions are never too stuffy.
Heavy rainfall occurs between November and March and can
be quite variable, usually as a brief evening downpour but
sometimes lasting a day or more.
Required clothing: Lightweight, washable cottons will
serve well.
Airports
Tahiti's
Airport is known as Faa'a International Airport which also
serves as the Domestic Airport and is located 6 km from
central Papeete.

Internal transportation:
In and around the islands of Tahiti, the famous Le Truck
is at your service. A unique means of transport with open
air sheltered cabin and wooden bench seats, Le Truck
vehicles run all over the island and can often be a
highlight of your stay. Le Truck is easily caught at any
of the blue signposts situated around Tahiti—just flag
down the big white bus. Taxis are also available in the
city, however they can be expensive. Those with a white
Tiare flower on their illuminated sign have drivers who
speak English.
